Hello, my name is Yazmin Bruno-Valdez and I am a sophomore at Donnelly College. I have been involved in environmental activist organizations for only a year now and am still learning so much from the community but have a strong passion for reducing carbon emissions. As an organizer, I have mostly focused on spreading awareness for the immigrant community and am a part of several immigrant rights organizations. I believe that fighting for vulnerable communities such as immigrants and POC is all interconnected with the mission of stopping climate change as these communities will be the most impacted. Environmental justice is important to be educated about and I am hoping to learn and grow so much more through this panel experience, please tune in if you have a chance!
